I designed the logo for a fitness data company called Fitball in Episode 033 of Design Journal!
Hey guys! ID here. How are you all? I took a little break from videos because of my college and some client work in the last few weeks. I hope it wasn’t too long. The good thing is, I am back at making 2 videos per week. Anyways, as you might have read in the title, I made the logo for a fitness data company Fitball in this one. This one was interesting as I also had to think of a name for the company. Without wasting any time, let’s get into it!

This is the 27th design brief that was sent to me by Thirty Logos. I am amazed by the fact that these briefs still challenge me and have something new every single time. The challenge for this one was that I also had to think of a name for the company. Let me admit, I am really bad at thinking names so it was a challenge for me. You can read the details below.
I started with trying to come up with a suiting name for the company. I wrote some keywords that I thought would represent the company in the best way possible. Then, I started thinking about some sort of smart word play for the name and thus, Fitball was born! Haha just kidding. I just came up with the name while trying to mixing and matching the keywords.
After the name, I started thinking about the logo. I thought a heart would represent health and fitness the best. Also, I had to make it related to football (American Football). As you can see in the sketches, I made the silhouette of two footballs making a heart and I wanted to take it into Illustrator to have some fun.
In Illustrator, I just had to make the balls look realistic and that was basically it. It wasn’t too hard after looking at some reference images from Google. I used a slight gradient to bring a little bit of contrast between the two balls. The final result is below for you to see.
